SO......
I decided to go with his next FAVORITE thing - BALLOONS!! It was super easy and didn't take too much time in the planning department.
Braxton got really sick back in December right around the time of finals. He had a crazy fever (it got up to 104) with a yucky cough and nose. When we took him in at the time they thought it might be pneumonia. The Instacare doctor ordered an x-ray which didn't show it being pneumonia but the crackles he heard in Braxton's lungs where a big indicator saying that is what it was. Braxton got put on an antibiotic and we were told if he didn't improve the beginning of the week (we originally took him in on a Saturday) to take him to his pediatrician. Well, he seemed to be doing better, and we were a little busy with finals so we didn't end up taking him in. He never really got rid of his cough but we figured it was just a winter cold thing because he didn't ever get a fever again - that is, until just before his birthday! We had all the invitations out and were planning on having his party the day of his birthday since it fell on a Sunday. He started getting all of the signs and symptoms that he had back in December - fever, his cough got worse, he wasn't sleeping well at night and sounded really congested. We decided on Friday to postpone his party because we didn't want to risk sharing whatever he may have had with all of this little friends and their families. We were so glad that we did because by his birthday he was so sick and pretty miserable. We ended up taking him in to Dr. Bean because he just kept getting worse. He ended up being diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Dr. Bean was fairly certain that is what he had back in December as well. The antibiotic he was given isn't the most ideal one for walking pneumonia. It worked just enough to get him on the road to recovery but not to get rid of it (which is why he started feeling better but never got all the way better. That is also why it came back with a vengeance.)
With the help of the right antibiotics we were able to have his birthday party the next Sunday and it turned out great!!

PARTY TIME
Nate bought candles that re lite every time they are blown out for 90 seconds
of course I didn't now about it!
Brax didn't want anything to do with blowing them out so I got to by default.
After blowing them out 2 or 3 times I looked at Nate and asked if they were trick candles.
He laughed and told me the trick to them.
He said he bought that kind thinking it would be fun for his friends to take a turn too.
So they all took a turn blowing the candles out!
They were a hit - good thinking babe!
