Happy Birthday again, Sami!!

So, for Sami's Birthday on Friday we went to Leatherby's and got ice cream! It was delicious! Then on Saturday Sami decided to go to Rodizio Grill! Us grownups hadn't been there in a while but Jason and Lexi have never been there before. Lexi wasn't all that pleased with it but Jason on the other hand LOVED it. He was super excited the whole time. When we got there he said he wanted to try EVERYTHING!! And that he did, including cow heart!! By the end he was more interested in taking food from the men than eating it and he had a full plate as well as a full stomach!! After that we went and got carmel apples at the Rocky Mountain Chololate Factory! They have the best carmel apples ever!! We then walked around Trolley Square and got a little crazy with the camera. We joked that people watching us probably thought we were from out of town!

Sami HATES being as tall as she is most of the time but especially when ever she has her picture taken with me! She always bends her knees to be more at my height! So most of the pictures you see of us together are only of our top 1/2!

I wanted one of us at our normal height but every time my mom would go to take the picture she would bend her knees! When she would bend, I would bend and we ended up on the floor as my mom took the picture!! What a stinker~

Wait..... I'm not taller than Sami :)

That's better!!! I finally got her to stand straight for one picture. Good thing it turned out.

Super cute Bear we found at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

Super cute Siblings (Jason and Lexi) with the super cute bear - Jason still looks a little full

Cool Non Chocolate treat I found for Chloee at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!! Which she loved by the way - once she figured out what to do with it, that is!! She even saved the best part for last~

While us girls were goofing off with the camera and looking in clothing stores my dad found the Brookstone Store and got nice and cozy!!! When we finally got him out of the chair Jason and Lexi both decided they wanted a turn.

Mom and dad with the Girls - well 2 of the 3. The other one wanted a turn on the massage chair!!

Happy Birthday Sami Ann

Sami and I did our share of fighting while growing up! When we were little it started as us fighting over who got to be the mom while playing barbies, who got to hide first in Hide and Seek, who got to be the "teacher", who's turn it was to clean up after Annie. It turned into fighting over "borrowing" each others clothes and shoes, as we got older. No matter how much we fought and how mean I was to her I HATED it when other people were mean to her! I was her sister and that was MY job, no one elses!! Looking back on it now it reminded me of a quote from a very good movie "There are some days I could kill "Sami" but I would kill for her any day!"

We've been through a lot together, good and bad! Some of those bad were really bad and they taught me a lot about famaily and how important family is. Don't take them for granted, be willing to help them through anything, love them no matter what and don't take for granted all the good times you have and the memories you are able to make. All I have to say is I'm so glad my Sami is back. We have definately made up for the little time we lost. I hope we can always be best friends.

Sami, you are an amazing girl! I love you and look up to you so much! You have an amazing personality and a smile that lights up a room! Your a little slow sometimes and when we give you a hard time about it it's because we love you and we know your strong enough to take it! Thank you for all of your love and support, your listening ear even when whatever I'm talking about or complaining about is dumb and pointless to you-thanks for listening and pretending to care! Thank you for all the good times, your shoulder during the bad times and all the MANY laughs! Happy Birthday Sami! I hope you have a very special one! Love ya girl

My Beautiful sister, Sami

1 Year Toward Forever

1 Week ago from today Nate and I celebrated our first anniversary! (I know it's a little late but I didn't have a blog back then!)It's crazy how fast time flies and it seems to have gone even faster since we got married and I know it will continue to speed up through the years, especially once kids join our picture! We decided to spend our anniversary in Vegas. It's kind of a random place but we wanted to go somewhere we could "get away" but that we could also drive to. Plus we got a good deal on a hotel! We headed down on Thursday the 12th and came home on Sunday the 15th which was the perfect amount of time to spend down there - we started running out of things to do except walk the strip, which is a good work out by the way!!! Thanks so much to both of our families who watched our little one while we were away and taking such good care of her.

This last year has been amazing! It has been full of ups and downs, exciting times and not so good times, and definatley a lot of firsts! But the best thing about everything we have beeen through is that I have had my best friend and the person I love more than anything by my side - supporting me, loving me, cheering me on and celebrating with me. It's amazing how your definition of love changes after you get married, for the better! I think I speak for both of us when I say that we have learned a lot this past year. A lot about each other and ourselves. We have learned how to deal with eachothers quirks and how to compromise on the way we do things. We have known each other for about 5 1/2 years now (we dated for about 4 1/2 years, although part of that was me waiting for him on his mission, which I totally count!) and I feel like I have come to know him better in this last year than those other 4 1/2 combined! Some of the firsts we have had together are firsts of all the holidays - 1st Thanksgiving, 1st Christmas, 1st Birthdays ect. We also got our first house in October and our first baby in December!

We have been able to accomplish a lot this first year and have many more things we wish to accomplish or at least start working on this coming year! Thank you so much for a wonderful first year and I look forward to spending many many more with you. I love you so much!

For our anniversary Nate got me the last band for my ring! He even surprised me with it. I took my engagement ring and wedding band in to have them saudered together and was supposed to pick it up on a Wednesday (about a week and a half before our anniversary). Shane Co. called me on Wednesday, the day I was to pick it up and informed me in a message because I couldn't answer my phone at the time that they had run out of sauder. The lady said they would be getting more in on Firday night and that my ring would be ready the next Tuesday (3 days before our anniversary). I thought it was a little strange that they would run our of sauder but figured crazier things have happened before! I didn't really mind as long as I would have it back for our anniversary! I had things going on Tuesday night after work so I wasn't able to pick it up. I thought it would be easier to just pick it up on Thursday morning on our way out of the City. Nate called me on Tuesday and said that for some reason Shane CO. had called him instead of me to inform us that my ring was done and that I should go pick it up after work. I told him about my plan to get it the next morning on our way out and he insisted I go today so we didn't have to worry about it. I thought he was crazy! How long could picking up a ring really take and it was more on the way than it would be for me to get it that night on my way to school. I decided to just go with his suggestion and went to get it! When the lady took it out of the envelop and then the paper it was wrapped in, she held it up for me to see and asked if it looked okay! Much to my surprise there was not only the one band I had brought in but there were now two on my ring! I couldn't help but smile and all I could say was "It looks perfect!" I was so suprised and excited! I learned after picking it up that Nate had gone into the store on Wednesday (the original day of pick up) and pick out the band and aked them if they could add it. When they said they could he asked them if they would call me and pretty much lie! I was surpirsed that he could get them too! He also was so insistant on me picking it up the day before we left because he didn't want to be there with me when I got it. What a stinker! Thank you so much for a wonderful surprise and a great 1st anniversary!!!
While in Vegas we.....
Went to the Coca Cola Factory

And got to try 12 of the most popular sodas in the world - lets just say
some of them weren't very good

We went to M&M World

We went and saw Lance Burton's Magic Show! He's pretty good!

We walked the strip

And got to see all the amazing lights on the Strip at night

Maybe it's not as hard as I thought!

Okay, so I guess it's not totally as hard as I thought it would be. Now the next step is to figure out how to make it look all cute and fancy. I'll work on that though and then we should be good to go!!

1st post ever!!!

Okay, so to be completly honest I have no idea what I'm doing! I have seen so many cute blogs latley and love to see what is going on and how everyone is doing so I decided to try and start one of my family!! I figured I would give you a fare warning since the next couple blogs will be interesting and pretty pointless until I can figure out what I'm doing!! Hopefully it won't take to long~
