So, it has been almost a month and a half since Nate and I celebrated our second anniversary but for some reason I have been skipping over those pictures as I have been doing my recent posts. So here it is... a month and a half late!
Braxton's actual due date was on March 13th (our wedding anniversary) but because he decided to come two weeks early we didn't have to spend it in the hospital! Nate's mom offered to watch him for us for a couple of hours so we could go to dinner and enjoy some us time which we were in dire need of! My wonderful husband took me to Cheese Cake Factory despite the over an hour wait. We went over to the mall and walked around for a little bit to kill some time! By the time we finally got seated, got our food, ate it and left we were both exhausted! On our way to dinner we had thought about maybe going to see a movie after we ate but as we left the restaurant we decided that probably wasn't a good idea. I don't think either of us would have made it though the whole thing.
The next day (Sunday) my family had Nate's family over for dinner. It's so nice that our families get along so well! We enjoyed a nice evening with all of us together. For our first anniversary Nate and I went down to Vegas for a couple of nights. Because we weren't home we totally forgot to eat our cake! So we decided that since both of our families were together and it was only the day after our second we would keep the celebration going through the next day and share our cake with everyone!!
Nate and I with our now TWO year old cake!
TWO YEARS!!!!!!
Our mom's decided it would be fun if we reenacted our special day by cutting a piece together and then feeding each other.
Nate played a long for a second, then he decided it wasn't such a cool idea! Those darn guys have to ruin all the fun!
Getting ready to feed each other
See that look in his eye and the smile on his face.......
I totally should have seen this one coming. He said he owed me - he wanted to do that on our wedding day. I told him if he did he would be sorry. He was smart and was really nice that day but he has been wanting to shove it in my face ever since. I actually was planning on doing the exact same thing to him - but I forgot.
My how a lot can change over two years!
Our Second Anniversary gift - two weeks early!
In case your wondering I think everyone at least tried a piece and it actually wasn't to bad. The fondant and the first little bit of cake under the frosting weren't very good but once we got to the middle it almost tasted just like a normal cake! We were all very impressed.

Happy Easter
Braxton celebrated his first Easter this year and it was so much fun! I have to admit that it ended up being more like Christmas than Easter and he didn't care as much as everyone else did.
We woke up Easter morning and went down stairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought.
Chloee with our Baskets
We gave Braxton a bath at Grandma's house before breakfast because we got home so late before because of the Priesthood Session the night before.

Snuggling with Chloee.....
Or should we say Chloee was snuggling with him!
Chloee's not allowed on the couch, at least she's not when Nate's home! Hopefully he doesn't find out our little secret!
Chloee has been so good with Braxton. I think she has finally figured out over the last couple of weeks that he is here to stay! In the beginning, she was a little confused. She would sniff him up and down quite often. In the middle of the night, after waking up to Braxton crying, Chloee would be quite annoyed. After patiently waiting by our bedroom door to be let out she would make her way to the end of the hall and spend the rest of the night in the bathroom on the rug.
As time went on though she slowly became more and more protective of him. When ever he would cry while in his swing or pack and play she would run to his side until I could get to him, then she would run away.
Now day's whenever we get home and she makes her rounds to welcome us back Braxton is now included! After greeting Nate and I Chloee goes straight for the car seat, sticks her big nose between the flaps on the car seat cover and sniffs around - sometimes including a little lick or two! She is pretty jealous of the idea that she has to now share our attention and unfortunately for her it's not shared very evenly. There are times when were talking to Braxton while he's laying on the floor or sitting in his swing and before you know it she's right there in between us and the swing or blanket in just the right spot that we can't see Braxton so our attention has to go to her! Also, whenever we talk playfully with Braxton or make silly noises, Chloee takes it upon her self to include her self in the fun by running as fast as she can to find a toy and bring it back to us.
Chloee really is such a good dog. We can't wait for the day when Braxton can start interacting with her. They are going to be great buds!
Hanging out in the Swing
First REAL Bath....
We brought Braxton home on Sunday, February 28, and gave him his first bath at home on Monday March 1st. He wasn't such a fan of the washing up part! Once we were done washing him, despite the look on his face, he LOVED being able to hang out in the warm water....
Braxton's umbilical cord fell off when he was 5 days old. Because it fell off so early and because Nate and I are paranoid first time parents we waited until after his 2 week check up plus one more week to make sure it healed the way it should before we have him his first "real" bath.
I think he liked his baths in the sink better!
He was perfectly fine once he got out though!

Maternity Pictures
These pictures are so fun! They were taken when I was 36 weeks - about 2 weeks before Braxton was born - it was supposed to be about a month before. It's hard to believe that I looked like this only a couple of weeks ago. I have a hard time remembering it so I'm so grateful that I have these pictures to help remind me. Thanks Lacie for taking such fun pictures!
