WHO YA GONNA CALL?

2/20/11

Your local Fire Department?

Our Neighbors have a flag pole that they needed their flag hung on.

Apparently I missed all of the excitement in the beginning when Chris decided to lean his own ladder against the flag pole and clip it with the flag. First of all, the ladder wasn't tall enough and second of all the pole apparently started leaning causing the ladder that he was on to also lean!
A little bit after his attempt he went into his house and told his wife that he had called the West Jordan fire department and they were on their way. Her response, "Of course you did"!

I got a text from Aaron Gelter around 10:00 that morning saying that the Fesslers were going to be having a fire truck at their house if Braxton wanted to see it but it probably wouldn't be there very long. I was a little confused and surprised that they were special enough to just have a fire truck at their house. Little did I know!

They came with a ladder truck, a normal fire truck and 6 or 8 firemen. The firemen said it was a good opportunity for them because they were really slow at the time and they haven't had the chance to use their ladder truck very many times so they were happy to do it! They were all very nice too! When they were all done getting the flag hooked up they let the kids look around and in the fire truck and posed with picture with Jackson!

-Braxton didn't care so much, he didn't really understand what was going on

I, on the other hand, thought it was so cool!

Poor Nate missed the whole thing being at work......

One of the nice firemen

Thanks Chris and Kym for the excitement you brought to the neighborhood! We really appreciate it. We all kept saying that it was fun to be able to see them at work on something good and happy and not for a fire!

To celebrate, the Fesslers, Gelters and Brax and I decided to go to luck at Jim's!

What a fun day~

Good times! I couldn't believe my eyes when I came outside and saw Chris 15 feet in the air on a ladder with the flagpole bent at a 45 degree angle! I'm glad he decided to not risk his life and give us some fun by calling the fire department!
